Since our establishment in 2007, we’ve been diligently working to support the community where we all work, live, and play through various donor-advised and scholarship funds.

One of our key annual initiatives is the “Shifting Gears for Regan” event, which aims to raise awareness and funds for mental health and teen suicide prevention. This event is very close to our hearts, as it was established in memory of Regan Johnson, a local teen whose life was tragically cut short by suicide. We gather at the Louisburg Cider Mill every year to remember Regan and raise funds. To increase the impact of your donations, MICOCF matches each dollar contributed up to $5,000.

We leverage digital fundraising tools to make donating and participating in events as accessible as possible. This helps us raise the necessary funds more efficiently and keeps our community engaged with our efforts and informed about the difference their contributions are making.

The Shifting Gears Passport Cruise is another significant event we help host. It began in 2018 and has since become a highly anticipated annual tradition, increasing participation yearly. During the cruise, participants visit local attractions and share stories, all while supporting teen suicide prevention. This event raises funds and fosters community spirit and cooperation, strengthening local ties and encouraging ongoing engagement.
