Let’s spread the Love 💖

Since stepping into this role, I’ve been blown away by the kindness and generosity of Miami County.

Y’all are amazing. This community is built on people who truly care, and that’s something worth celebrating.

Whether it’s a fun event, a great cause, or just a moment to connect, I want to make sure you have every opportunity to be part of the magic happening right here in our hometowns.

📌 Save the Date: Match Day Celebration – Coming September 27th!

The Miami County Community Foundation is hosting its exciting annual Match Day celebration at Town Square in Paola, Kansas, and this year promises to be bigger than ever, with the support of the Patterson Family Foundation.

Matching Grant Opportunity

Thanks to the generous commitment from the Patterson Family Foundation, every dollar raised during the month of September will be matched up to $100,000. That means we have the chance to bring a total of $200,000 into the Miami County community to fund vital philanthropic projects.

Event Details

Sponsorship includes: Signage and verbal acknowledgement at the event, followed by early access to the meal for your table.

What to Expect That Night

I can’t wait to welcome you to celebrate. This matching event is not just a night of fun; it’s a community effort to uplift local projects and double our collective impact.

✨Local Recipe Spotlight✨: 4th of July Special: Grandma Lantis’ Taco Salad

This month’s featured recipe comes from Barb Fisher of Paola, who shares a cherished family favorite passed down from her Grandma Lantis always served in the same yellow bowl during their 4th of July gatherings.

“I have lived in Paola my entire life and enjoy the small-town feel. Volunteering with various organizations in the county; you realize how fortunate we are to have communities that take care of their own and never hesitate when there is a need.”

Thank you, Barb, for sharing your story and a little piece of your family table with all of us.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Brown beef and drain. Mix with onion and beans. Chill.
  2. In a large bowl, mix tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese.
  3. Toss in the chilled beef mixture.
  4. Add crushed Doritos and dressing just before serving

Serve, enjoy, and let the memories flow!
